LOOKOUT
27 MARCH - 02 APRIL 2026
Coastal vantage points have long been places of watchfulness, where people look outward for returning boats, distant weather, or the possibility of something appearing on the horizon.
Lookout draws on this coastal habit of attention. A place where we have historically looked out for the safety and well-being of others, for signs of danger, or to simply observe the rhythms of the shoreline - moving tides, and the fragile boundary between land and sea.
27th Mar to 2nd Apr, 2026
Open daily
The Fisherman's Hut Gallery is located at Dunwich Beach Car Park, next to the Flora Tea Rooms.
Parking is free, but please consider donating to local charities.
If you've not visited Dunwich before the car park is a great starting place for a number of circular walks...
Why not strut south along the beach to the Coastguard Cottages? Then either on, over Dunwich Heath to take in Westleton, or back along the clifftop via the ruins of Greyfriars Monastery.
Or head north along the shingle bank to Walberswick with its selection of pubs , before heading back via Dingle Marsh. You can always extend your walk by taking the ferry or footbridge over to Southwold.
Either way, or if you don't want to head far, there are delicious meals, refreshing drinks available at Flora Tearooms and The Ship Inn - the latter may even have a warming fire.
If you're visiting on the weekend be sure to visit the wonderful Dunwich Museum before leaving to fully appreciate the effects of the changing nature of the shifting coastline and discover the fascinating story of the Lost City of Dunwich. They are open weekends only, 2pm - 4pm until March 31st. From April 1st the museum is open daily, 11.30 - 4.30pm.
I will be working at The Fisherman's Hut Gallery with a selection of original works on show, alongside giclée prints, and cards available to purchase
